Limits the current teacher salary compensation method through the 2014-15 budget year, requiring alignment with the salary schedule adopted by the school district where the school's main campus is located.

Beginning with the 2015-16 budget year, teachers shall be compensated according to the school district's salary schedule as of January 1 of the preceding fiscal year, plus salary policies adopted by the school's board of trustees to implement that schedule.

If the school district lacks a salary schedule as of January 1 of the preceding fiscal year, the school shall use the most recently adopted salary schedule before that date.

Teacher compensation funding shall remain included in the school's line item appropriation and shall not affect state funds distributed to the school district where the main campus is located.

The act takes effect August 6, 2014, unless a referendum petition is filed, in which case it requires voter approval at the November 2014 general election to take effect.
