• Vehicles qualify as authorized emergency vehicles only while actively being used to escort a funeral procession, not during other uses.

• State motor vehicle licensing agency must issue written designation to operators of funeral escort vehicles, though failure to carry the written designation does not affect the vehicle's status.

• Takes effect on August 6, 2014, or ninety days after final adjournment of the general assembly, unless subject to voter approval by referendum petition.
