CO SB219

Directs the Division of Housing in the Department of Local Affairs to study factors affecting the shortage of owner-occupied affordable housing in Colorado, in consultation with government agencies and private-sector entities.

Requires the study to focus on housing where monthly principal, interest, taxes, and insurance (PITI) costs do not exceed 30 percent of area median income.

Mandates the study include market trends, consumer demographics, financing availability, federal and state laws, insurance products and rates, comparison with other states, and consumer protection laws.

Requires the Division to report findings to the General Assembly on or before March 15, 2015.

Repeals this provision effective July 1, 2015, making it a temporary directive.
