Staff Sergeant Justin L. Vasquez was born January 26, 1979, in Rocky Ford, Colorado, and was killed on June 5, 2005, in Baghdad by an improvised explosive device while assisting fellow soldiers

Vasquez served as a platoon sergeant deployed to Iraq from March 2003 through March 2004, and was again deployed as a Bradley Commander in March 2005

Colorado Department of Transportation may accept gifts, grants, and donations for initial placement of signs marking the bridge and may explore a cooperative agreement with Otero County Commissioners for maintenance of the markings

Senator Crowder to hand deliver copies of the resolution to Staff Sergeant Vasquez's spouse, child, parents, and the mayor of Manzanola, Colorado
