Recognizes May 4-10, 2014, as "National Correctional Officers and Employees Week" in Colorado, aligning with the federal designation by Congress and the President.

Honors approximately 6,000 Colorado Department of Corrections employees who supervise and reform about 20,000 offenders while maintaining safe and secure facilities.

Commemorates 16 Department of Corrections officers and employees who died in service to the state, including Officer Thomas Tobin (1899), Night Captain William C. Rooney (1900), and Executive Director Tom Clements (2013).

Calls upon Colorado citizens and all patriotic, civic, and educational organizations to observe the week and recognize correctional officers' commitment to criminal justice and public safety.

Directs copies of the resolution to be sent to Governor John Hickenlooper and Executive Director Rick Raemisch of the Colorado Department of Corrections.
