CO HB1023

Increases the upper age limit for persons served in day treatment centers from 18 years old to 21 years old.

Maintains the minimum age requirement of 3 years old for day treatment center services.

Allows persons who reach age 21 after the start of an academic year to continue attending educational programs through the end of that semester or until program completion, whichever comes first.

Preserves the definition that day treatment centers provide less than 24-hour care for groups of five or more children receiving structured psycho-social and behavioral treatment.

Excludes special education programs operated by public or private schools and other department-licensed child care programs from the day treatment center definition.
