HB 15-1329 Summary

• Creates the off-highway vehicle task force to study the issue of driving off-highway vehicles (ATVs and side-by-side vehicles) on publicly maintained roads and consider safety, access, and regulatory issues.

• Task force consists of 13 members appointed by July 1, 2015, representing the agriculture committee, senate, Colorado state patrol, three county commissioners, parks and wildlife division, environmental community, finance committee, hunting outfitters, off-road recreation clubs, powersports dealers, and sheriffs.

• Speaker of the House shall convene the first meeting no later than October 15, 2015, with task force members selecting a chair and meeting as necessary but urged to meet no more than twice if possible.

• Task force shall submit recommendations and any proposed legislation to the general assembly by December 1, 2015.

• The task force legislation automatically repeals effective July 1, 2017.
