Effective July 1, 2017, all Colorado state employees paid through the state's payroll system shall receive paychecks twice monthly instead of monthly payments.

For the transition period, employees receive their first biweekly payment on July 31, 2017 (for work performed July 1-15) and August 15, 2017 (for work performed July 16-31).

Ongoing biweekly payments occur on the last day of each month for work performed days 1-15, and on the 15th of the following month for work performed days 16-end of month.

State employees may apply for a one-time loan from the Department of Personnel to cover expenses during July 2017, with a maximum amount equal to one-half month's net pay, repayable over three years via annual leave deduction or after-tax paycheck deductions plus interest.

General fund revenues are restricted upon actual payment on both the first and fifteenth working days of July for June state employee salaries.
