Served 22 years as a firearms instructor, 15 years as a driving instructor, and supervised the Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit with 7 motorcycle officers in his final position

Killed in the line of duty on January 26, 2014, when his police motorcycle was struck head-on by another vehicle on Colorado State Highway 93

Authorizes the Colorado Department of Transportation to accept gifts, grants, and donations for placement of 2 memorial highway signs
