• Recognizes Colorado's community-based services system established in 1963 that provides services through local community-centered boards and program-approved service agencies as an alternative to state-operated facilities.

• Acknowledges that over 15,000 Coloradans with intellectual and developmental disabilities currently receive services and supports through community-based providers.

• Affirms the importance of person-centered services, meaningful employment opportunities, adequate wages and training for direct-support professionals, and accessible communication technologies for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

• Directs copies of the resolution be sent to community-centered boards and organizations providing services to adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families throughout Colorado.
