• Establishes requirement for School Safety Resource Center to appoint a person to collect and provide training materials on child sexual abuse and assault prevention for school personnel, parents, and students, including specialized materials for children with developmental disabilities.

• Directs the appointed person to research and select professional development modules for school staff covering prevention, identification, and response to child sexual abuse and assault, including use of the child abuse reporting hotline system.

• Requires development of age-appropriate educational curricula for kindergarten through twelfth grade addressing recognition of abuse, boundary violations, grooming behaviors, and strategies to promote disclosure and mobilize bystanders.

• Encourages school districts and charter schools to adopt child sexual abuse and assault prevention plans including comprehensive curricula and professional development for staff and parents.

• Appropriates $72,512 to the Department of Public Safety for the School Safety Resource Center in fiscal year 2015-16, assuming 0.9 additional FTE, with authorization to use funds for program costs.
