CO SB031

Allows any person to practice an occupation or profession in Colorado during their first year of residency if authorized to practice in another state, with no disqualifying basis under Colorado law, and consenting to state disciplinary jurisdiction.

Expands reciprocity eligibility to all new residents (previously limited to military spouses only).

Does not apply to professions regulated under Articles 25, 28, 36, 40, or 61 of Colorado Revised Statutes.

Does not prevent state agencies from entering into reciprocity agreements with other states or jurisdictions if otherwise authorized by law.

Takes effect August 5, 2015, or if subject to referendum petition, upon voter approval at the November 2016 general election.
