• Amends Colorado Revised Statutes section 23-54-101 to change Metropolitan State University of Denver's admission standards from "modified open" to "moderately selective"

• Removes the previous exception allowing nontraditional students age 20 and older to be admitted with only a high school diploma or equivalent

• Changes take effect January 1, 2016, subject to potential referendum petition requiring voter approval at the November 2016 general election

• Maintains the university's comprehensive mission to offer liberal arts, science, technical, educational, and limited professional programs
