CO SB243

Prohibits the Colorado Department from closing or selling state-operated beds licensed under the Home- and Community-Based Services for Persons with Developmental Disabilities Waiver prior to May 16, 2016.

Requires the Department to maintain an adequate number of beds at regional centers for individuals who transitioned to the community within the preceding six months but had unsuccessful transitions as identified by a community-centered board and the individual's legal guardian.

Permits individuals with unsuccessful community transitions to return to state-operated regional center beds pursuant to Section 27-10.5-110 and applicable federal law.

Repeals this statute effective July 1, 2016.

Takes effect August 5, 2015, unless a referendum petition is filed, in which case it requires approval by voters at the November 2016 general election.
