SB 15-248 Summary

• Repeals Colorado Revised Statutes 24-33.5-1613, which established the state facility security fund in the state treasury.

• Modifies compliance requirements in 24-33.5-1610 so state departments and agencies must comply with funding rules only if funds are available to the department or agency, removing the reference to the state facility security fund.

• Eliminates the centralized funding mechanism that previously allowed the Department of Personnel to allocate moneys to executive branch departments and agencies for implementing facility security rules based on critical need.

• Takes effect at 12:01 a.m. on the day following the expiration of the 90-day period after final adjournment of the general assembly (August 5, 2015, if adjournment occurs May 6, 2015), or if subject to referendum petition, upon voter approval in November 2016.
