Senate Bill 15-267: School Finance Summary

• Sets statewide base per pupil funding for 2015-16 budget year at $6,292.39 ($6,121 base plus $171.39 inflation adjustment).

• Establishes minimum total program funding for all districts and institute charter schools at $6,233,955,737 for 2015-16 after application of negative factor adjustments.

• Appropriates $25,000,000 from the general fund and $5,000,000 from the state public school fund for the 2015-16 fiscal year to the department of education for school finance.

• Creates new at-risk per pupil additional funding of $5,000,000 annually beginning 2015-16, distributed to districts and charter schools based on number of at-risk students served.

• Increases interest and income credited from the public school fund to the state public school fund from $16,000,000 to $21,000,000 annually beginning 2015-16, to support school finance funding.
