Senate Joint Resolution 15-017: Colorado Arc Day

• Designates March 19, 2015, as "Colorado Arc Day" in recognition of The Arc's advocacy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities

• Acknowledges that more than 80,000 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live in Colorado and that The Arc has served as the nation's oldest and largest grassroots organization for civil rights advocacy since its founding in 1950

• Recognizes The Arc of Colorado's 12 local chapters serving Aurora and 20 Colorado counties (Adams, Arapahoe, Archuleta, Boulder, Broomfield, Clear Creek, Denver, Dolores, Douglas, El Paso, Gilpin, Jefferson, La Plata, Larimer, Mesa, Montezuma, Pueblo, San Juan, and Weld)

• Expresses sincere appreciation to The Arc's staff for their commitment to supporting and improving quality of life for Coloradans with intellectual and developmental disabilities

• Directs copies of the resolution be sent to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and executives of The Arc and numerous developmental services organizations throughout Colorado
