Honors Cindi L. Markwell's retirement as Secretary of the Senate after 35 years of service with the Colorado General Assembly.

Markwell began her career in November 1980 in the Legislative Drafting Office (later the Office of Legislative Legal Services) and advanced through multiple positions including Legislative Assistant and Head Legislative Assistant before becoming Journal Clerk and Assistant Secretary of the Senate in 2008, then Secretary of the Senate in 2011.

Markwell's accomplishments include creating training classes for new Legislative Assistants, overseeing the restoration of the Senate Chamber (including repair and relocation of stained glass windows in 2013, removal of acoustic tiles, and repainting to match early 1900s colors), and serving on the Legislative Management Team and Capitol Building Advisory Committee.

The Colorado Senate extends its highest regards and gratitude to Markwell and wishes her a happy and rewarding retirement.
