HB 16-1017 Summary

• Increases the maximum fee for victim impact panel appearances from $25 to $50 for persons convicted of DUI, DUI per se, DWAI, or UDD.

• Requires in-person attendance at one court-approved victim impact panel as a sentencing option in addition to other penalties.

• Establishes automatic annual fee adjustments beginning July 1, 2017, based on the Consumer Price Index for Denver-Boulder by the U.S. Department of Labor.

• Takes effect July 1, 2016, and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.
