House Bill 16-1031 Summary

• Requires Legislative Council Staff to prepare and present a research study of state transportation commission districts to the Transportation Legislation Review Committee no later than August 1, 2016.

• Study must document changes in population, number of lane miles, and annual vehicle miles traveled for each commission district since the last time the General Assembly modified district boundaries.

• Study must account for existing county and municipal boundaries, regional transportation authorities and districts, and transportation planning regions.

• Includes a safety clause declaring the act necessary for immediate preservation of public peace, health, and safety.
