State Auditor must divide all community-centered boards designated by the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing into three subgroups of approximately equal size by September 30, 2016, based on number of clients served (highest, middle, and lowest).

State Auditor shall conduct performance audits of one community-centered board from each subgroup at least once every five years, or more frequently at the auditor's discretion.

State Auditor must submit written reports with recommendations from each audit to the Legislative Audit Committee.

All community-centered boards are made subject to the Colorado Local Government Audit Law (Part 6 of Article 1 of Title 29, C.R.S.).

Act takes effect August 10, 2016, unless a referendum petition is filed, in which case it requires approval by voters at the November 2016 general election.
