• Extends the sunset date for the Commodity Metals Theft Task Force from July 1, 2016 to September 1, 2025, requiring a sunset review before repeal under section 2-3-1203, C.R.S.

• Expands the definition of "commodity metal" to explicitly include bronze and brass as copper alloys, while maintaining the fifty cents per pound minimum value threshold and excluding precious metals.

• Encourages law enforcement agencies to report commodity metals thefts to the scrap theft alert system maintained by the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries, Incorporated, or its successor organization.

• Repeals the commodity metals theft task force from the July 1, 2016 sunset review list and adds it to the September 1, 2025 sunset review list in the advisory committee statute.
