Adds definition of "health care-associated infection" to replace outdated "hospital-acquired infection" terminology throughout statutes 25-3-601 through 25-3-603.

Expands health facilities subject to infection data collection and reporting requirements to include long-term care facilities and other state-licensed or certified facilities that submit data to the National Healthcare Safety Network.

Modifies advisory committee composition to include one representative from a long-term care setting and one additional health care professional, reducing the total from three to two certified infection control practitioners from other settings.

Extends the sunset date for the Infection Control Advisory Committee from July 1, 2016, to September 1, 2021, allowing continued operation and recommendations on clinical procedures and health care-associated infections to monitor.

Requires annual reports comparing risk-adjusted infection rates across individual health facilities in the state with plain language executive summaries of findings, conclusions, and trends.
