Extends the criminal statute of limitations for felony sexual assault under Section 18-3-402, C.R.S. from 10 years to 20 years after commission of the offense.

For victims under 18 years old at time of offense, the 20-year statute of limitations begins when the victim reaches 18 years of age.

Applies to felony sexual assault charges and related charges including criminal attempt, conspiracy, or solicitation to commit sexual assault.

Maintains an unlimited statute of limitations for cases where the defendant's identity is established through genetic information and the offense is reported to law enforcement within 20 years.

Takes effect July 1, 2016, and applies only to offenses committed on or after that date.
