Department of Revenue may issue identification cards to holders of valid driver's licenses or those whose licenses expired no more than one year prior, upon electronic or mail submission of an application and required fee.

Applicant must hold a valid driver's license issued or renewed under sections 42-2-114 or 42-2-118, or have expired their license no more than one year prior.

Upon issuance of an identification card under this provision, the Department shall cancel any valid driver's license held by the applicant.

New subsection (9) of Colorado Revised Statutes 42-2-302 takes effect March 1, 2017, with the provision repealing effective July 1, 2017.

Act takes effect 12:01 a.m. the day following the ninety-day period after final adjournment of the general assembly (August 10, 2016), subject to voter approval if a referendum petition is filed in November 2016.
