CO HB1335

Adds section 18-8-117 to Colorado law making it illegal to reserve, obtain, or sell government services or appointments that are publicly provided without charge, including false representations to customers about securing such services.

Creates four prohibited actions: directly selling a reserved service, reserving with intent to sell, bundling a service with another good for sale, or falsely claiming to have secured a service for sale.

Exempts sales when the government entity provides written consent or when only information about services is being sold, not the services themselves.

Establishes violations as Class 1 misdemeanors under Colorado law and adds the conduct as a deceptive trade practice under section 6-1-726.

Takes effect July 1, 2016, applying to offenses committed on or after that date.
