Expands the state museum cash fund to support exhibit planning, development, and build-out at all facilities owned and operated by the State Historical Society, not just the new state museum.

Appropriates $2,000,000 from the state museum cash fund to the Department of Higher Education for use by the State Historical Society during the 2016-17 fiscal year.

Reserves $3,000,000 plus compounding interest earned beginning July 1, 2015, as a controlled maintenance reserve for the new state museum, available for appropriation starting in fiscal year 2027-28.

Allows appropriations from the cash fund to remain available for four years, with uninvested moneys remaining in the fund rather than reverting to the general fund.

Governor Hickenlooper approved the bill on April 22, 2016.
