• Falls are a leading cause of unintentional injury and mortality nationwide, with more than 500,000 ladder-related injuries treated annually in the United States and approximately 300 deaths per year.

• The estimated annual cost of ladder injuries in the United States is $11 billion, and these injuries can be prevented through appropriate workplace safety practices and employee training.

• Encourages all commercial entities to maintain and enhance safety training programs for job site use of ladders.

• Encourages insurance providers to maintain and enhance programs that lower insurance premiums for construction entities that establish training and safety programs for ladder use.

• Requires distribution of the resolution to numerous construction industry associations, government agencies, and labor organizations in Colorado.
