Senate Bill 16-021 Summary

• Designates the third Saturday in May annually as "Public Lands Day" in Colorado.

• Permits public observance and recognition of Public Lands Day in all public schools throughout the state to honor the importance of public lands.

• Requires the Governor to issue an annual proclamation calling for celebration of Public Lands Day.

• Takes effect 90 days after final adjournment of the general assembly (August 10, 2016, if adjournment occurs May 11, 2016), subject to referendum petition requirements.
