CO SB047

Prohibits juvenile detention facilities operated by or under contract with the Department of Human Services from receiving or providing care for juveniles who violate court orders to attend school under Colorado's School Attendance Law of 1963.

Exception allows detention only if the juvenile is also found guilty of and adjudicated for committing a delinquent act and remains under juvenile court jurisdiction for that delinquent act.

Amends Colorado Revised Statutes section 19-2-402 by adding subsection (1)(c) to establish the prohibition.

Includes a safety clause declaring the act necessary for immediate preservation of public peace, health, and safety.
