Amends Colorado law to give courts discretion in sentencing defendants convicted of two or more separate violent crimes arising from the same incident, rather than mandating consecutive sentences in all cases.

Allows courts to impose consecutive sentences if one of the crimes is aggravated robbery (§18-4-302), assault in the second degree (§18-3-203), or escape (§18-8-208).

Requires consecutive sentences remain mandatory for violent crimes not falling within the specified categories when multiple crimes arise from the same incident.

Takes effect July 1, 2016, and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.
