State Auditor shall conduct postaudits and performance audits by September 1, 2017, September 1, 2022, and September 1, 2027 of gaming tax revenues transferred to the State Historical Fund for Central, Black Hawk, and Cripple Creek.

Audits will examine how the three cities are spending distributions and whether expenditures are used for preservation and restoration purposes.

Audits will verify whether the cities have adopted and are following grant distribution standards specified in Section 12-47.1-1202 (3), C.R.S.

This audit duty is in addition to the State Auditor's existing duty to examine reports submitted by the three cities pursuant to Sections 29-1-606 and 29-1-607, C.R.S.

Act takes effect 90 days after the 2016 legislative session adjournment, subject to voter approval if a referendum petition is filed.
