SB16-078 Summary

• Requires assisted living facility operators to ensure administrators complete 30 credits of continuing competency education every 2 years
• Operators must maintain records on facility premises documenting completion of competency requirements in a form and manner prescribed by the department
• Department of Public Health and Environment must promulgate rules establishing continuing competency requirements, including at least 1 credit hour on ethics and at least 1 credit hour on employee management
• Effective date is August 10, 2016, subject to referendum petition and potential voter approval in November 2016
