Department of Human Services must vacate the Grand Junction Regional Center Campus and list it for sale no later than July 1, 2018, or when all residents are transitioned to non-campus residences, whichever occurs first.

Residents must be transitioned to home-like settings serving no more than 8 persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with new facilities limited to 6 persons maximum.

Department established Grand Junction Regional Center Campus Transition Cash Fund with $2 million transferred from the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services Cash Fund for housing transition and moving costs.

Department must submit disposition plan by December 10, 2016, to Capital Development Committee including procedures for spending sale proceeds and creating an advisory group with direct care staff, families, and stakeholders.

Transition process must emphasize person-centered services, preserve service capacity at other regional centers in Pueblo and Wheat Ridge, enhance day services, and protect staff employment; any unexpended funds revert to general fund after 2019-20 fiscal year.
