• State Department must select a needs assessment tool by July 1, 2018, for persons eligible for long-term services and supports, including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

• Development or selection of the assessment tool must involve collaboration with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities who receive services, legal guardians, case managers, and other stakeholders.

• Assessment tool must include a reasonable reassessment process allowing completion within 30 days of a request made by a person with disabilities or their legal guardian.

• State Department must report to the House Public Health Care and Human Services Committee, Senate Health and Human Services Committee, and Joint Budget Committee regarding the selected tool and stakeholder involvement.

• $138,787 is appropriated from the intellectual and developmental disabilities services cash fund for the 2016-17 fiscal year to support implementation, including 1.8 FTE personal services positions, operating expenses, and professional services.
