More than 12,000 career and volunteer firefighters comprise the Colorado fire service, responding to more than 500,000 calls for help each year.

Honors four recently deceased firefighters: Richard Lee Marchman (July 9, 2014), Willard Clapper (October 16, 2014), John Whelan (July 16, 2015), and Craig Moilanen (October 8, 2015).

The Colorado Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Lakewood contains the names of 145 firefighters who have died while protecting lives and property in Colorado.

Members of the Colorado General Assembly honor and pay tribute to the ultimate sacrifice paid by fallen firefighters and express sympathy to their families and friends.

Directs copies of the resolution be sent to state fire chiefs and directors of various Colorado fire departments and districts.
