Commemorates the 50th anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), signed into law on October 15, 1966, which established the legal framework for protecting and preserving historic buildings, landscapes, and archaeological discoveries.

Recognizes the Federal Historic Preservation Tax Incentives Program as the largest federal program supporting historic preservation, which has created millions of jobs, saved tens of thousands of historic structures, and attracted billions of dollars in investment.

Acknowledges Colorado's strong state tax credit program supporting approximately 1,100 preservation projects statewide, including the American National Bank in Alamosa, Tabor Grand Hotel in Leadville, and Old Sterling Public Library in Sterling.

Highlights Colorado's historic preservation infrastructure including 25 National Historic Landmarks, the National Register of Historic Places with over 80,000 properties, the State Historical Fund created by constitutional amendment in 1990, and the Certified Local Government Program serving 52 localities.

Directs distribution of joint resolution copies to the History Colorado Preservation50 Advisory Committee, State Historic Preservation Officer Steve Turner, Adams 12 Five Star Schools leadership, and Colorado Preserve America Youth Summit representatives.
