HB 17-1078 Summary

• Repeals Colorado Revised Statutes sections 25.5-10-401 and 25.5-10-403 relating to the Colorado Family Support Loan Program, effective July 1, 2017.

• Requires the State Treasurer to transfer all remaining money from the Colorado Family Support Loan Fund to the newly created Family Support Services Fund prior to the program's repeal.

• Creates the Family Support Services Fund in the state treasury to receive transferred funds, loan repayment payments, and any other appropriated or transferred money for family support services.

• Authorizes the State Department to use Family Support Services Fund money for administering outstanding loans from the repealed program and providing family support services to families of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

• Directs the State Department to manage the termination and wind-up of the Colorado Family Support Loan Fund and transfer all outstanding loan payments to the Family Support Services Fund.
