Adds Colorado Revised Statutes § 13-21-129 to limit damages in claims for loss of use of rental motor vehicles to actual lost profits only.

Applies to any action alleging a claim for loss of use of a rental motor vehicle as defined in Section 6-1-201.

Takes effect at 12:01 a.m. on the day following the expiration of the ninety-day period after final adjournment of the general assembly (August 9, 2017, if adjournment sine die occurs on May 10, 2017).

Subject to referendum petition; if challenged within the ninety-day period, the act will not take effect unless approved by voters at the November 2018 general election.

Applies only to causes of action arising on or after the effective date of the act.
