• Adds "host school" definition to allow P-tech programs to operate within existing schools rather than only as stand-alone schools, providing local flexibility in school management and control.

• Permits P-tech schools to establish different high school graduation requirements from their local education provider or host school.

• Requires P-tech students to be counted in graduation rates during the year they complete the local education provider's or host school's minimum graduation requirements, enabling accurate data collection and accountability reporting.

• Requires P-tech schools or host schools to notify the Colorado Department of Education prior to a student's twelfth-grade year if the student will continue enrollment in grades thirteen or fourteen for funding purposes.

• Takes effect August 9, 2017, unless a referendum petition is filed, in which case it requires approval by voters at the November 2018 general election.
