Repeal the requirement that ASCENT program participants must complete participation in the program before being counted as high school graduates.

Count ASCENT program participants in the enrolling school district's or charter school's graduation rate in the school year when the student completes the school's minimum high school graduation requirements.

Require the state board of education to promulgate rules ensuring schools and districts are not adversely affected by counting ASCENT participants toward graduation rates.

Include ASCENT program participants in school accountability reports under Part 5 of Article 11 of Title 22, regardless of whether they have completed graduation requirements.

Mandate rules include minimum reporting requirements relating to educational accountability and educational accreditation provisions.
