HB17-1374: Colorado Heroes Hunting and Fishing Act

• Grants eligible veterans a free lifetime resident combination small game hunting and fishing license, or any big game license they qualify for under Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission rules.

• Requires applicant to be a current Colorado resident for at least the previous 2 years and have served on active duty in the United States Armed Forces for at least 2 years.

• Eligibility includes veterans separated from armed forces under honorable conditions or current active duty members of the armed forces.

• Takes effect August 9, 2017, unless a referendum petition is filed, in which case it requires voter approval at the November 2018 general election before taking effect.
