CO SB034

Extends the period during which county commissioners may transfer general fund money to the county road and bridge fund following a gubernatorial disaster emergency declaration from 4 years to 8 years.

Allows transfers only after the governor declares a disaster emergency in the applicable county by executive order or proclamation.

Requires all transferred county general fund moneys to be used exclusively for disaster response and recovery purposes consistent with permitted uses of the road and bridge fund.

Takes effect August 9, 2017, unless a referendum petition is filed, in which case the measure requires approval by voters at the November 2018 general election.
