CO SB120

Requires U.S. citizenship for all peace officers and certified peace officers in Colorado, effective upon enactment of the bill.

Exempts honorably discharged veterans of the U.S. military from the citizenship requirement.

Grandfathers legal permanent residents currently employed as peace officers or certified peace officers until July 1, 2022, with possible extension if they demonstrate progress toward citizenship.

Directs the P.O.S.T. board to revoke certification of any peace officer who fails to meet the citizenship requirement by July 1, 2022, unless an extension is granted.

Defines adult and juvenile probation officers as law enforcement agency employees for purposes of the grandfather provision.
