HB18-1184 Summary

• Requires the Commission to publish an annual "State of 911" report by September 15 beginning in 2018, with submissions to the General Assembly.

• Report must address Commission actions, statewide 911 structure and technology, network reliability, identified gaps and vulnerabilities, federal activities impact, Next Generation 911 implementation planning with timeline, and 911 funding adequacy and mechanisms.

• Commission shall consult with public safety answering points, 911 governing bodies, and statewide public safety organizations when developing the annual report.

• Commission must present the report to the Senate Committee on Business, Labor, and Technology and the House Committee on Business Affairs and Labor by February 1 each year, beginning February 1, 2019.

• The bill does not grant the Commission authority to regulate providers or services exempt under Section 40-15-401.
