Renewal licenses continue to expire every three years on December 31, with applications accepted 30 days prior to January 1.

Continuing education requirements for initial licenses expiring in less than three years require 24 hours of credit with at least 8 hours in commission-developed courses (versus 12 hours for three-year licenses).

The Real Estate Commission may establish rules to transition reinstatement license periods from anniversary expiration dates to December 31 expiration dates.

The bill was approved by Governor John W. Hickenlooper and declared necessary for immediate preservation of public peace, health, and safety.
