Makes it an unfair employment practice for employers to seek wage or salary history information, including compensation and benefits, from job applicants in oral or written form.

Employers may request salary history only if they have documented that they notified the applicant of the wage or salary range for the current employment opening.

Alternatively, employers may request salary history if the applicant voluntarily agreed to discuss their salary history with the employer.

Takes effect August 8, 2018, unless a referendum petition is filed, in which case it becomes effective only if approved by voters at the November 2018 general election.
