Prohibits new fermented malt beverage retail licenses for buildings located within 500 feet of public or parochial schools or the principal campus of colleges, universities, or seminaries.

Distance is measured by direct pedestrian access from the nearest property line of the school to the nearest portion of the building where beverages are sold.

Does not apply to license renewals, premises on municipal or state-owned land, retailers operating before the campus was built, faculty/staff clubs on campuses, or campus liquor complexes.

Local licensing authorities may modify or eliminate distance restrictions through rule, regulation, ordinance, or resolution.

Applies to applications submitted after the effective date for new licenses and for existing retailers seeking to relocate their licensed premises.
