HR 18-1002 Summary

• Amends House Rule 26 to specify that House resolutions may address transaction of House business, establishment of House committees, recognition of deceased armed forces and public safety members, recognition of national holidays, and other matters expressing the will of the House not mentioned in Rule 26A.

• Modifies House joint resolutions to address the same matters as House resolutions plus business of both chambers and establishment of bi-chamber committees.

• Extends the deadline for resolution introduction from the last twenty legislative days to the last thirty legislative days of a regular or special session.

• Exempts resolutions pertaining to the close of session or conduct of legislative business from the introduction deadline restriction.

• Maintains the limit of two House concurrent resolutions and two combined House joint resolutions and House resolutions per member per session unless the House Committee on Delayed Bills grants permission.
