• Purpose: Updates outdated statutory references from "county department(s) of social services" to "county department of human or social services" to reflect that counties use different labels for departments handling human and social services duties.

• Scope: Nonsubstantive terminology changes across multiple Colorado Revised Statutes titles covering child welfare, public assistance, medical assistance, adoption, education, and related social services programs.

• No Legal Change: The general assembly explicitly declares that these terminology updates do not alter the scope or applicability of any statutory sections in which the changes appear.

• Effective Date: Takes effect August 8, 2018 (90 days after final adjournment), unless a referendum petition was filed, in which case it becomes effective upon voter approval at the November 2018 general election.
